Kael Varos
Kael Varos, a lone Togruta, is a figure shrouded in mystery, his origins veiled in the depths of the unknown. Unlike his brethren on the Togruta homeworld of Shili, Kael was not fortunate enough to be born and raised in the embrace of his native planet. Instead, he spent his formative years wandering the galaxy, seeking his place in a universe plagued by conflict and turmoil.
His journey began when fate brought him into the presence of Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi Knight. For a brief period, Kael trained under Ahsoka's tutelage, exploring the vast potential of the Force. However, his aspirations were shattered as he delved deeper into the history of the Jedi Order, discovering the haunting echoes of bureaucratic failures that led to its downfall. Disenchanted by the shortcomings of the Jedi and their inability to prevent the galaxy's descent into chaos, Kael made the painful decision to abandon both Ahsoka and the pursuit of formal Force training.
With a profound disdain for the Rebellion, Kael found himself harboring mixed sentiments towards the Empire. While he recognized their imperfections and oppressive nature, he could not muster the same level of hatred as he held for the Rebellion, which he believed had recklessly thrown the galaxy into disarray. Instead, his compassion was reserved for the less fortunate and the needy, often demonstrating mercy in the face of adversity.
For decades, Kael wandered the cosmos, a solitary figure seeking solace in his loneliness. It wasn't until he stumbled upon Balmorra that he found a semblance of belonging. There, amidst a diverse settlement teeming with individuals from various species and planets, Kael forged a deep connection. He regarded the settlement's inhabitants as his adoptive tribe, finding solace in their communal existence.
Tragedy struck when the settlement was engulfed in the fires of a battle between the rebels and the Empire. In the aftermath, Kael mourned the loss of his adopted tribe, his heart weighed down by the demise of a young Twi'lek child whom he had taken under his wing, nurturing and loving as his own. In the wake of devastation, he roamed aimlessly, grief-stricken, until fate intervened once more.
It was a Togruta slaver named Moki Tel who discovered Kael, battered and broken, and offered him a chance at survival. Moki Tel instilled in him the principle of self-reliance, teaching him to rely on his own strengths in the absence of his tribe. Although harboring a deep resentment towards the Rebellion for bringing war to Balmorra and destroying the innocent lives around him, Kael now sought to dismantle the very institution that he believed would perpetuate such devastation across the galaxy.
Determined not to falter in his quest, Kael embraced self-reliance as his guiding principle, recommended to him by Moki Tel. He understood that his caring nature had been his weakness, rendering him too weak to attain true strength. Thus, he steeled his resolve, dedicating himself to tearing down the Rebellion to prevent further destruction and suffering. With the spirit of a pack hunter coursing through his veins, Kael Varos embarked on a journey that would test the limits of his resilience and determination.
